Hamilton Performance

We went to Victoria Palace Theatre to watch the musical production: Hamilton. It was quite an enjoyable experience and a refreshing one as I hadn't seen anything that had been choreographed and directed quite like it. All speech that ever came out of characters mouths were part of songs from speech to story telling it was all done in a series of quite addictive and repetitive songs which the audience, who were mainly kids quite enjoyed. I did find it quite interesting how they were doing a matinee on a Tuesday but I suspect it was mostly because it was a performance mainly for people in education like me. No one made any mistakes during the performance or stopped half way through reciting their script and they executed their movements swiftly and precisely and remained calm. I like watching shows like this one as they not only give me inspiration but there is a lot to learn by the way they act and their techniques, along with their hand gestures and body language through. The length of the first half and the second halves seemed to be decided well otherwise the show would definitely just have dragged on and I would have stopped losing interest, and the prices for the ice creams during the interval were extremely cheap, also adding to my already quite positive experience watching the show! The actors who played several roles such as the man who played Thomas Jefferson but also one of Hamiltons best friends near the beginning of the play was a very good actor and was able to quickly switch from one role to another without a problem. I felt quite emotionally touched when Hamiltons son died and I cannot stress how well his son was played, even though the actor was an older man he was able to present the character so well. I don't know whether it was the long hair and how he was short or the way he spoke but it was just great watching him and when he died I felt like I was going to cry. I left this performance moved and ready to listen to the top ten songs in the comfort of my old home reminiscing on the time I saw this master piece.
